Eric Frey | Bass, Vocals A native of Clay, Alabama, Eric began his musical education at the age of 8, learning how to play the upright bass from his father, an avid bluegrass musician. Eric honed his skills in local bluegrass, old-time, and rock bands, while grounding his musicianship in formal training, studying under the tutelage of Cleveland Eaton, legendary bassist of the Count Basie Orchestra, and working towards a degree in music technology at University of Alabama-Birmingham. In 2003, Eric left his hometown to join up with the Red Stick Ramblers, a perfect match for his versatility and musical vitality. |
